I believe Calgary at home will beat Dallas in regular time.

Calgary entered the new NHL season with two losses to Edmonton 2:5 and Anaheim 2:3 after overtime. After that they got on a winning streak and won 6 games in a row, 5 of them in regular time. In their last game, Nashville ended their streak 2-3 after overtime, but Calgary was the better team and won 40-22 on shots. They are in 2nd place in the Western Conference , having 14 points in 9 games. If Calgary can build on their performance, they will beat Dallas.

Visiting Dallas hasn't won even once in regular time in 9 games this season, winning 3 times in overtime, losing 2 times in overtime, and losing 4 times in regular time. The last 4 games they lost to Winnipeg 4-3 after overtime, Columbus 1-4, Vegas 2-3 after overtime and even to a weak Ottawa, which is one of the worst teams in the whole NHL and they are only 12th in the Western Conference.

I was surprised by the relatively high odds for this game, with 5 or more goals. The NHL plays fast offensive hockey and I believe that this game will prove that 100%. This season in Calgary's games, an average of 5.44 goals per game are falling. Dallas is averaging 4.89 goals per game. In 2020, these teams have played 6 games against each other and the 4.5 goal threshold has been reached on 4 occasions. I believe that will be the same in the first meeting in 2021.
