While after the opening four rounds Wolfsburg were at the top of the table, they have only taken a single point from the same number of games since, and with a Champions League win waiting (0-2-1), new coach Mark van Bommel is under pressure. This was helped by Wednesday's defeat to Salzburg in Champions League, which was their fourth defeat in their last five matches in all competitions (0-1-4), they have always lost by exactly two goals. VfL need to work hard as they are in danger of losing four consecutive league games for the first time since the 2012/13 season. H2H is not good for them, as they have only won in one of the previous six games against Freiburg (1-3-2).
Freiburg are in great form and are the only team to remain unbeaten in Bundesliga (4-4-0). They have made their best ever start to the league! They will be looking to extend their unbeaten streak at the Volkswagen Arena where, despite the absence of home striker Wouter Weghorst (coronavirus), more goals may come.
