Wolfsburg are not doing well in the league either, after losing to Stuttgart in their third consecutive match, so they have dropped to the second half of the table. There is speculation about the future of coach Florian Kohfeldt, whose team, like that of his predecessor Mark van Bommel, is running out of breath after a great start and going from defeat to defeat. Wolfsburg hasn't won 7 games in a row (0-1-6). They are 11th in the Bundesliga with 20 points, which is 1 point more than their opponents Cologne, who are 12th with 19 points.
Another loss is out of the question, and the concern goes into the match against Cologne knowing that they have not pointed in four of the previous five league matches (1-0-4). Cologne failed to confirm their role as favourites against Augsburg at the weekend and came up empty after three rounds, not helped by the fact that they are still waiting for their first away league win of the season (0-4-3). Cologne is certainly not without a chance to end this unflattering record, but I rather expect goals on both sides, this has been true in four of the last five matches between them.
In the last 5 matches between Wolfsburg and Cologne we could see the results - 2:1, 3:1, 0:3, 2:2, 1:0. We can see that they have no problem scoring goals. Also both teams have actual goal scorers who can take it on themselves. On the home side, Weghorst (6+1), Nmecha (7 goals) will take care of the offensive effort. For the visitors from Cologne, they will rely on the offensive qualities of Modeste (10 goals) or Skhiri (4+1).
Wolfsburg needs to work harder and I think they will score at least 1 time at home. As for the visitors, they are currently playing in good form except for the last game in which they stumbled on home turf 0:2 with Augsburg, otherwise they have no problems with scoring and conceding goals, as indicated by their score of 23:25 after 15 rounds of Bundesliga.
Prediction:
Both Teams to Score - Yes @ 1.70 (bet365)
