Premier League
Newcomer Brentford started the season very well and got 8 points from their opening 5 games. But I would wait to rate Brentford, because so far they haven't faced any "heavyweights" like Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham or Leicester - only in these matches will Brentford's real strength be shown. And it is Liverpool who now travel to Brentford and are surely the big favourites.
Liverpool have an excellent score of 4 W / 1 D and 12:1 from 5 matches so far. They beat Crystal Palace 3:0 at home in their last league match. Sadio Mané was the star of the day, scoring his 100th goal in the red jersey. In addition, he became the first player in Premier League history to score in nine consecutive games against a single opponent! Considering the fact that his teammate Salah also scored, one can assume that Liverpool's cool-playing offense will find a recipe for the decent-playing newcomer.
The new team among the elite Brentford didn't let themselves be broken by three games without a win (2 draws, 1 loss) and in the last round they got a very valuable win at Wolves (2:0). The London side didn't allow their opponents a single shot on target, while last year's top Championship scorer Ivan Toney shone in their jersey, scoring one goal himself, assisting another, and yet his third was disallowed for handball. In the first round, Brentford beat home 2:0 Arsenal.
Brentford won 2-0 away against Wolves in the last league round, but before that Brentford lost 0-1 to Brighton in their last home game. So if Brentford lost to Brighton at home last time, why can't the much, much better Liverpool win there? This is something Liverpool need to keep an eye on and 3 points is a must.
My bet:
Asian Handicap: Liverpool -1.0 @ 1.75 (bet365)
