I believe that home Boston will win against visiting Montreal by 2 or more goals.
Boston started the new season poorly and started very slowly, but in the last few games the performance has been going up. They have played 12 games and have 7 wins and 5 losses with 14 points. Especially the first line is starting to show solid performances and better results and wins are coming right away. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and the first offensive trio had the balance: Pastrnak 2+5, Marchand 4+6, Bergeron 6+4. They are even stronger in their home arena, winning 5 out of 6 games and losing only to Edmonton.
Missing: Frederic
Montreal surprised everyone last season when they reached the final, but the new year started tragically for them. They lost the first 5 games, now they have played 16 games and have 4 wins, 2 of them against Detroit and once on home ice against Calgary and once on San Jose and they have 12 losses with a total score of 34:53. They are the second to last team in the Eastern Conference. It's even worse on their opponents' ice. 7 games, 1 win, 1 loss in overtime and 5 losses with a score of 13:24.
Missing: Byron, Edmundson, Perreault, Drouin, Byron, Paquette, Perreault, Price
Boston is a team that definitely doesn't belong in the bottom half of the table and they will prove it tonight against Montreal. Boston's first line is coming to life as we know it and today they should lead the Bears to a win by at least two or more goals. A lot of injuries in Montreal lineup won't help the visitors either.
My bet:
Asian Handicap: Boston Bruins - 1.5 @ 2.0 (bet365)
