NHL
Boston are playing at home, where they are 6-1-0 (8-5-0 overall), but will face the Calgary Flames, who are 7-2-2 (9-3-5 overall). Something tells me that the home ice could play a key role, but Calgary is not playing badly at all. Players like Johnny Gaudreau and Elias Lindholm are proof of that.
The only team that was able to beat Boston at home were the strong Edmonton players and even though the Oilers only trailed in the first and second periods, they were able to turn the game around in the third period. Calgary has managed its last two away games, although playing against teams other than Boston, they are a different quality. They won in Buffalo 5-0 and most recently against the New York Islanders 5-2. The Flames even had a good game last time in Boston, winning 5-2.
Both teams can count on almost all players. Boston can't count on Trent Frederic, who is out with an upper-body injury. For Calgary, Brett Ritchie is out with a lower-body injury. The other players are in full field to fight for more points to the table.
STATS - Boston Bruins vs Calgary Flames (standings)
- number of goals per game: 3.214 (10th) vs 3.278 (8th)
- goals conceded per game: 2.786 (12th) vs 2.000 (1st)
- shots on goal per game: 36.00 (1st) vs 34.39 (5th)
- shooting percentage: 8.93% (21st) vs 9.53% (14th)
At first I was thinking of Boston winning, but after looking at the stats I dismissed that. It's not that I don't believe it can't work, the NHL is unpredictable in this way, but Calgary is a pretty tough challenge. Both teams shoot a lot, on the other hand Calgary has good goalkeepers and gets few goals. But both teams are offensive, they have great players in their lines, so i will bet on at least 6 goals this time. At least seven goals have been scored in the last four matches.
My bet:
Over 5.5 Goals @ 1.95 (bet365)
