Ligue 1
Bordeaux won the last round for only the third time in the season and at least a little relieved in terms of their position in the table. Coach Petkovic's side won three points at the newcomer Troyes even at the cost of losing. Hwang scored the winning goal, his 16th of the year, to make it 2-1, confirming his improving form after a slight thigh injury. In Sunday's cup match, Bordeaux played perhaps the easiest possible opponent. A team called Zouasia travelled all the way from the Comoros Islands (specifically the island of Mayotte, an overseas department of France in the Indian Ocean east of Africa) to the west of France, and the 10-0 result speaks for itself. Bordeaux will be looking to carry their scoring cool into their last game of the year against Lille.
Last time Lille failed to beat a weakened Lyon and took only a point for a goalless draw. Overall, they hold a streak of six league games in a row without a defeat + three more wins during this time in the Champions League. Lille also did their Coupe de France duties at the weekend, where they faced Auxerre, the 3rd team in Ligue 2, whom they beat 3-1, and it is certainly worth mentioning another goal from Jonathan David, who has been exceptionally good at scoring in the first part of this season.
The match in Bordeuax will not be easy for Lille, as the home team can punish from quick counterattacks, for which they have the right players. However, the problem arises in defence, where Bordeuax have already conceded 40 goals. Both teams could score goals and it could even be a shootout, as Bordeaux is not short of goals this season (average 3.8 goals per game).
My bet:
Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score - Yes @ 2.25 (bet365)
