Bilbao started the season with a 0:0 draw with Elche and the statistics were even. Elche also scored, but VAR came into the game and cancelled the goal due to offside, so the point must be good for Bilbao in the end, even though they were the favoured team before the game.
They will definitely present a different style against Barcelona, playing from a secure defence and relying on counter-attacks
In the last season, 2020/21, Bilbao finished 9th in mid-table and it could be similar this season.
But I don't believe Bilbao will get points in Saturday's game. Barcelona beat Real Sociedad (which I consider as a stronger opponent) quite clearly (4:2 away) in the first round and showed that even without Messi they want to play for the top positions in Spain. That game showed that Barca should still be at the good level up front and the attacking line-up (Griezmann, Depay, Braithwaite) looks very promising. But only the next games will give us the answers.
I will trust Barca now and bet on them to win. But I'll make another bet in this game and that is that we could see at least 3 goals in this game. If we look at the H2H, there are a lot of goals in the games between these two teams.
