Champions League - Qualification - Semi-finals
Game 2. 1st leg result: 2-0
Benfica confirmed their role as favourites in the first match and came home from Russia with a 2:0 win. The difference between the two teams was huge, the Portuguese team could have easily won by a bigger goal difference.
This lead is a great, but on the other hand Benfica can't afford to underrate anything and will definitely go into the game with a full squad including the key players.
Benfica started the league with a win, won 2:1 away against Moreirense at the weekend and seem to have started the season in great form, including CL match with Spartak and pre-season, where they beat home for example Lille (1:0).
Spartak Moscow finished last season in second place (57pts.) behind Zenit (65pts.).
But the start of the new season has not gone well for Spartak at all, apart from the loss to Benfica, they are also not doing well in the league, where they are only in eleventh place. In 3 games they have lost 1:0 to Kazan and in their last game at the weekend they lost 1:2 at home to Novgorod. So far they only have a win from the second round where they beat Samara away, who have lost all three games and are last in the table.
I believe that Benfica will not underestimate anything and will win the second match against Spartak, by at least two goals again.
