Banik Ostrava will welcome Sparta on Sunday, who they last beat in April 2018! After that, a series of ten matches without a win followed with a score of 0-2-8. Ostrava has a bit of a complex about their old rival, having not scored a goal against Sparta 7 times out of 10 matches. The home team also lost confidence in the last week, losing both to Slovácko (1:2) and Hradec (1:2). The last mentioned defeat on Wednesday was all the worse as it meant the end of team in the MOL Cup, and thus the dream of a European Cup is slowly but surely going away. Defender Lischka, who is on loan in Ostrava from Sparta, will not play in the match; the tall stopper would have been useful, as he helped the team in the finishing at the beginning of the season.
On the other hand, the visitors can rely on their great productivity (30 goals), which was confirmed in the cup match in Teplice (2:0). Sparta did not sweat too much on Wednesday against Teplice, coach Vrba made nine changes for that match, so the starting line-up is rested. They are currently 2nd in the table with 29 points. A few weeks ago they managed to beat Slavia Prague in the derby after 5 years, it was a very nice moment for them and they enjoyed it a lot.
My bet:
