ASIA: World Cup - Qualification - Third stage - Round 3
Australia, since moving into the Asian part of the qualifiers, is still looking in vain for opponents who would give them significant trouble. In the match against Oman, it will once again be the favourite.
After two games, they are at the top of the table with a 4-0 score, a 3-0 win against China, which I think is a tougher opponent than Oman, and a 1-0 win against Vietnam, which they didn't play well against, but still won in the end.
They have players from all over Europe. Four players from the Championship, Hrustic from the Bundesliga, Rogic from Celtic, in goal Ryan from Real Sociedad etc...
Oman have 3 points after two games, surprisingly winning 1-0 in Japan but then losing to Saudi Arabia by the same score.
Oman is made up of only players playing in the Oman League. Probably the only plus is that most of the players are from one team (Al-Seeb Club), so they are more integrated.
The national teams last met in 2018, where Australia won 5-0 and is a big favourite today.
My bet:
Asian Handicap: Australia -1.5 @ 2.50 (bet365)
