ATP - SINGLES: Adelaide (Australia), hard - 1/16-finals
This match will offer us a duel between American tennis player Steve Johnson (85) and Aleksandar Vukic (156) from Australia.
Johnson is a 32-year-old tennis player and his highest ranking was 21st (July 2016). He didn't play much the previous season (11/17) and his best was the July quarterfinal from Los Cabos and he repeated the same result a month later in Washington. Since then, he's struggled a lot, losing in the opening rounds to players like Popyrin, Gaio and McHugh.
Vukic is a 25-year-old player and is currently at his ranking maximum. He was especially successful in the US tournaments in the latter part of last season, where he played 2 Challenger finals, to which he added 2 more semifinals entries, or even a 2nd round from the Masters in Indian Wells.
In this match, I have a slight favourite in the Australian player, who has been on a roll towards the end of the year and has recorded several very good results. Johnson has been far from optimal form in recent months and if Vukic builds on his recent performances, he certainly has a chance to advance.
Aleksandar Vukic to win @ 1.80 (bet365)
