ATP - SINGLES: Sofia (Bulgaria), hard (indoor) - 1/16-finals
Martinez plays more clay tournaments (last time he won a clay tournament in Seville 14 days ago, so he's in pretty good form). But he can also play on hard surfaces. This year he beat, for example, Y.Nishioka (71.), Ruusuvuori (89.), or Duckworth (56.). Here at the indoor tournament he is going smoothly so far, beating Ivanov 2:0 and surprisingly Kamil Majchrzak 2:0.
Djere is also more of a clay court player. But that's the end of it...
He's not very good on hard court. He's not good at fast play, quicker ball bounces. He messes up a lot. Djere has a hard and hall score of 4/8 this year, which isn't very good. He hasn't beaten any good players, so I think Martinez should beat him.
Martinez is a universal tennis player who can play well on the hard court. I liked Martinez at the US Open, where he was an equal opponent to Rublev (Martinez lost 1:3), who plays great.
