ATP - SINGLES: Sofia (Bulgaria) - Qualification, hard (indoor) - Semi-finals
The Italian experienced matador Seppi is at the end of his excellent career at the age of 37, he is a former very good player, a long-time member of the TOP 100 with a maximum ranking of 18th. But even now, at a more advanced age, he is still in the top 100 at the current rank of 87. Seppi is still playing on ATP, ATP qualifiers, sometimes he's playing some challengers. He is a universal player, he has results evenly between all surfaces. Indoors, he has a nice 181/127 score. He's 20/19 this year. At the beginning of the season he played great indoors at home Challengers in Biella (win, final), then he played on ATP (quarterfinals in Eastbourne, 3rd round of US Open). He beat, for example, Auger Aliassime in the French Open when Seppi was at 9 odds. Seppi played really well in that game. This season he also beat Gojowczyk, Broady, Nishioka, Ruusuvuori, Fucsovics and to make matters better, he knocked out Hurkacz (13.) at the US Open. So Seppi can't be written off at his age!
Turkish Ilkel is improving steadily and is already attacking his best position on the ranking list, which is 176th, now he is 180th. So far, he's been on the challengers, he's doing solidly this year, his score is 30/21. His best results (Antalya, Potschefstroom, Rome). He has been in good form lately, he reached the final in Pozoblanc and qualified for the US Open. Ilkel is universal in terms of surface, but his indoor is negative 36/41.
I believe in the more experienced Seppi, who is still able to beat even top 100 players at 37 years old. Ilkel, he is going up, but for me he is still a Challenger player without ATP experience.
