Atletico Madrid are currently 4th in LaLiga and 2nd in the Champions League group just behind Liverpool. Atletico beat Barcelona (2:0) in the last round, but before that they lost to Alaves (0:1), very narrowly beat Getafe (2:1) and drew with Bilbao (0:0). These are not very convincing results for the Spanish big club. In CL group, they drew with Porto (0:0) and beat AC Milan (2:1), turning the match in their favour only in the 84th and 97th minutes of stoppage time.

Liverpool have a great run of results, dominating in the Premier League and apart from a small mistake (a draw with a well playing Brentford) they are showing their strength and quality. They have won 5 games out of 8, drawn the other three (Chelsea 1:1, Man City 2:2, Brentford 3:3) and currently hold 2nd place in the English league. In Champions League, Liverpool beat AC Milan (3:2) and then beat 5:1 Porto. In their last league game, Liverpool crushed Watford 5-0 to set them up for today's Champions League match against Atletico Madrid. With Van Dijk back, The Reds defence is much stronger and I hope they continue to do so. Then hopefully one of the trio of Mané, Salah, Firmino will take care of the goals up front.

For me, DNB Liverpool. Their team is a bit better and their chances are a bit better in the match although maybe the H2H don't reflect that. In the event of a draw, we get our stake back.

Liverpool’s defense was quite poor. If not for Alisson making some beautiful saves it could’ve easily been 4 or 5 for Atletico.
