In this game, I think it's an interesting bet on less than 216.5 points because:
1. Boston is averaging only 107.2 points per game. It also has a relatively poor shooting success rate of just 43.9%, which is the 7th worst of any team in the league. Boston should miss Jaylen Brown again, who is averaging 25.6 points per game, which should be reflected in the Celtics' point total. In the last 5 games in which Brown did not start Boston averaged only 103.4 points, and if we don't take into account the overtime loss to Milwaukee, it would even be only 100.6 points per game.
2. Atlanta is averaging 108.9 points per game. If we combine that with Boston's average without Brown, we get a figure of 212.3 points, which suits our bet.
3. Defensively, Boston has averaged just 98.2 points per game in its last 5 games. Atlanta is getting around 110.2, which would give us a combined total of 208.4 points.
4. Both teams are playing at a below average pace, Atlanta has the 15th slowest pace of the game and Boston without Brown even has the 4th slowest pace.
5. Boston hasn't dropped more than 216 points in regulation time in 7 consecutive games.
My bet:
Number of points including overtime: Under 216.5 @ 1.86
