Real Madrid's winning streak came to a stop at ten competitive games on Sunday when the table leader failed to push back a bus parked in goal at Santiago Bernabéu by visiting Cadiz. The Andalusians arrived in Madrid with a highly defensive tactic and this plan earned them a point (0-0). Despite this, Madrid remain top of the league. Looking at their score (13-4-1) and their score (39:15), it is clear that rightfully so. Real also dominate the table of away games - they have lost points in only two of nine of them (7-1-1) - and since Athletic are not having the most successful season, it will be a clear goal for Ancelotti's squad to improve those numbers in Wednesday's game.
Bilbao defeated a strong Betis 3-2 on Sunday, but before that they hadn't won in eight consecutive rounds (0-5-3) and are ninth in the table thanks to the highest number of draws of all teams in the league (9 in 18 matches). The Basque club's poor productivity is another sore point, with Athletic scoring only 16 goals. Only Getafe, Alavés and Cadiz are worse in this aspect.
Real have won four of their last five mutual clashes and I believe they will add another success on Wednesday. However, given the home side's liking for draws, I'd rather bet the two in a DNB.
My bet:
Draw No Bet: Real Madrid @ 1.61 (bet365)
