Africa - World Cup Qualification
Algeria is ranked 30th in the FIFA rankings, making them the fourth best African team. The value of their squad is 176 million euros and includes several very interesting names: goalkeeper Oukidja (Metz), defenders Mahdi (Villareal) and Bensebaini (Gladbach), midfielders Bennacer (AC Milan), Boulaya (Metz) or Benrahma (West Ham) and offensive players Ounas (Napoli), Mahrez (Man. City), Feghouli (Galatasaray) or Slimani (Lyon). They are first in the table with a 4-1-0 and a good score of 23-2, although it must be added that Djibouti and Niger were pretty weak opponents.
Burkina Faso is 61st in FIFA rankings. Although its squad is worth 24 million euros, as much as 9 euros of this amount belongs to the long-term injured Shakhtar Donetsk striker Lacin Traoré. In the team there are some players who play in interesting European competitions: goalkeeper Koffi (Charleoi), defender Kaboré (Troyes), midfielder Dabo (Rizespor) and strikers Konaté (Grozny) and Tapsoba (Charleoi). They are second in table with a 3-2-0 score, having drawn at home to both Algeria and Niger.
The first match ended 1-1, but the Algerians were more active (7-3 goals attempts). Although a draw is enough for Algeria to qualify, I don't believe that they would rely on a draw at home. The difference in quality between these two teams is really big and the home team should secure their place in Qatar with three points.
My bet:
Asian Handicap: Algeria -1.5 @ 2.05 (bet365)
